This used Dreadnaught Acoustic guitar was damaged, abused and destined for the trash heap when I found it. Through the creative application of Steampunk, this instrument was revived for a new life as either a piece of art, decoration or to be played and enjoyed. Yes this instrument is playable. The adaptation of this guitar was to create a unique instrument that could be enjoyed and played.
This is a one-of-a-kind, musical piece of art. I will never create another Steampunk guitar that looks like this one. Each guitar I steampunk will have its own distinct appearance, sound, etc. Each one is “One-of-a-Kind”. Also, this guitar comes with a brand NEW hard-shell case, with padded, plush interior lining and it locks with a key.
Steampunk Adaptations:
Covered sound hole with metal
Braced top and bottom side with metal appliqué
Insertion of an analog (doesn’t require batteries) humidity meter (it works)
Headstock face wrapped in soft, black leather
Bridge wrapped in soft, black leather
Back reattached with glue and leather bindings and stitches
Fret board was hand scraped for smooth feel and to reveal natural wood color
Brass fittings adapted for lower strap holder; top strap pin is chrome
Nickel capped bridge pins
